Postural rehabilitation — Mézières Method
The Mézières Method, offered at the physiotherapy practice in Vibo Valentia, works on the muscle chains to restore balance and posture. Our body isn’t made up of isolated muscles, but of large “chains” that connect different areas: when one part is tense or shortened, the whole system is affected, producing pain that we often feel far from its real origin.
Through specific stretching postures and guided breathing, the Mézières Method works gently to release these chronic tensions. The aim isn’t only to relieve immediate pain, but to return the body to its natural shape, improving mobility, correcting poor posture and giving you back freedom and wellbeing in every everyday movement.
Who it’s for
- Recurring musculoskeletal pain: for those living with back pain, neck pain or tension that returns despite local treatments.
- Poor posture and stiffness: for those who notice asymmetries, rounded shoulders or reduced freedom of movement.
- Recovering mobility: for those who want to regain flexibility and balance, including as a preventive measure.
- Active and sedentary people alike: to rebalance the tension caused by repetitive sporting movements or long hours at a desk.
How it works
- Postural assessment: a global observation of the body to identify the muscle chains under tension and the real origin of the disorder.
- Active sessions: progressive stretching postures, guided by the breath, to release tension and restore symmetry.
- Awareness and maintenance: guidance to recognise and correct poor posture in everyday life, with periodic checks on progress.
